1. What we collect
When you create an account: your email address, your name or the display name you choose, your username, and your sign-in method (email and password, or Google). We never see your password.
When you build a page: what you add to it, such as your photo, text, links, products, services, events, posts and ad settings, plus customer notes you write.
When you buy, book or tip: your name, email address and, where needed, your phone number and delivery address, plus the amount and reference of the payment. Card details go straight to Paystack; we never see or store them. When you withdraw money we hold your bank name and account details, checked with Paystack.
When you visit: basic visit information such as the page, the country, the website you came from, and which links are pressed. We use Google Analytics on igboro.com pages. See the Cookie Notice.
When you contact us: your message and details, so we can reply.
2. Blog subscribers and comments
If you subscribe to a writer's blog, we store your email address so we can send you a confirmation and then that writer's new posts. You are only subscribed after you click the link in the confirmation email, and every email has an unsubscribe link. The writer can see your email address in their subscriber list and can export it. Igboro does not use these addresses for its own marketing.
If you like or comment on a post, we store your like and your comment. A comment shows the name you give, or your account name if you are logged in. Guests are recognised by a small cookie so a like can be counted once, and by a short-lived record of their network address to prevent spam. The writer of the post can remove comments on it.
3. How we use it
- To run Igboro: create your account, show your page, process payments, deliver receipts, tickets and bookings, and pay you.
- To keep the service safe: stop fraud and abuse, enforce our rules and respond to reports.
- To talk to you: service emails (receipts, security, payouts, billing) and, if you leave them on, short tips emails. You can switch the tips emails off in Settings.
- To improve Igboro: understand what is used and fix what isn't working.
- To meet legal duties, such as keeping payment records.
Our legal bases are: carrying out our agreement with you, our legitimate interest in running a safe and useful service, your consent where we ask for it, and legal obligations.
5. If you run a page
You decide what appears on your page and, if you turn it on, in the creators directory. The directory shows only your name, photo, headline, category, country and a rough audience size. You can switch it off in Settings.
When people buy from you, you receive their details to fulfil the order. You must use that information only for that purpose and for the customer relationship, and protect it. You are responsible for your own use of it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and page while you have an account. When you delete your account we remove your page and catalogue. We keep payment, payout and ledger records for as long as the law and our accounting obligations require, and security logs for a limited time. Email logs are kept so we can answer support questions.
7. Keeping it safe
We use secure connections, restrict who can reach our data, hash codes we send you, and keep payment card data with Paystack. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, or receive a copy you can move. You can download your data and delete your account in Dashboard > Settings. For anything else write to hello@igboro.com and we will reply promptly.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
9. Children
Igboro is not for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this policy as Igboro changes and show the date at the top. Contact us at hello@igboro.com with any question about your privacy.
